291 election deniers running tomorrow. 291 candidates who, if they lose, will deny they lost their elections. 291 candidates who will all claim they won, no matter if the outcome is a landslide for Team Blue.
If they’re the incumbent, they won’t concede. They will, as Steve Bannon urged Brazil’s Bolsonara to do, refuse to step down. Refuse to commit to an “orderly transition”, like the one WH attorney Eric Hershmann told Former Guy and his treasonous lawyer to commit to.
After a full day of armed vigilantes staking out “suspect” polling places (we all — wink wink — know which ones “those” are), we can expect a night of (likely even more armed) vigilantes storming vote counting centers across battleground states. Demanding that counting stop, so that only (primarily) GQP votes count. To freeze out absentee or provisional votes they haven’t already stopped from counting. Demanding recount after recount, no matter if their candidate lost by 1 vote or 100,000. Where there was only one J6, we’ll likely see multiple “November 8th” riots, filled with throngs of foaming, glassy-eyed patriots shouting Stop the Steal, many of them likely armed.
And we can expect lawsuit upon lawsuit upon lawsuit. Former Guy only filed 61 suits to overturn his election. We could see hundreds of lawsuits by the end of the week.
And where they can’t harass or sue votes from being counted, they will likely turn to fascists’ #1 go-to problem solver when they can’t bully or compel someone to do their bidding — violence. There will be at least some incidents of violence, which the GQP will immediately attribute to “isolated elements”, or even try to blame on antifa.
The goal of it all will be to MAXIMIZE CHAOS about the election. To have numerous, and perhaps even most races in battleground states not be called tomorrow night. To sow seeds — even just a kernel — of doubt so that their band of charlatans and traitors can dredge up the barest of bare scraps of “evidence” to overturn Democratic wins.
Bottom line: the election won’t be over tomorrow night. For many, if not most of the battleground races, tomorrow will just be the beginning of MAGA efforts to overturn them.
